Laundry Love with Grace

Laundry Love with Grace began with a simple idea: everyone deserves the dignity of clean clothes and the kindness of a welcoming community. Every 2nd and 4th Friday, Grace Episcopal Church opens its doors to neighbors in need — offering more than washers and dryers, but compassion, conversation, and a place where everyone is treated with respect.

Thanks to the generous support of the Martinez Community Foundation and the City of Martinez, this grant period helped provide 2,894 loads of laundry, restoring dignity to 197 unique neighbors across 515 client visits and 22 events. Twelve dedicated volunteers gave their time, compassion, and hearts to make it happen — funding $17,532 in laundry services, with 90% of funds going directly to laundry quarters and the rest toward program supplies like dryer sheets, bags, gloves, and wipes.

For the neighbors served, the impact goes far beyond clean clothes. As one participant put it: "Everyone I talk to about this program feels hope because you care." Another shared: "I can come together with people that have the same problems I have and we all feel loved."
